Terms & Conditions
These terms apply to your use of EAT and the EAT Per-Diem Card. By creating an account or applying for a card you agree to be bound by them.
1. Per-Diem Card — governing agreements
The EAT Per-Diem Card is a Visa® debit card issued through our banking partner via Crowded Finance. Use of the card is governed by the Visa Cardholder Agreement you receive at issuance. Neither EAT nor Crowded has a separate cardholder agreement — the Visa agreement is the binding contract for the card itself.
Crowded's own platform terms are set out in their Privacy Policy and Terms of Service. You are required to accept both in addition to these EAT terms when you apply for a card.
2. Per-Diem Card — acceptable use
The EAT Per-Diem Card is intended for purchases in the following categories:
- Medical
- Travel
- Retail
- Food & beverage
- Education
- Training
The card may not be used for:
- Cryptocurrency or digital-asset purchases
- Gambling, gaming, or sports betting
- Financial services (money transfer, securities, loans)
- Adult services
- Beauty services or massage services
- Any other category which our banking partner (Crowded Finance) deems incompatible with the per-diem program at its sole discretion
Transactions in restricted categories may be declined at authorization. Repeated attempts to use the card outside the permitted categories may result in suspension or closure of your card.
3. Per-Diem Card — FDIC insurance disclosure
Your deposits qualify for up to $3,000,000 in FDIC insurance coverage when placed at program banks in the i3 Bank deposit sweep program. Your deposits at each program bank become eligible for FDIC insurance up to $250,000, inclusive of any other deposits you may already hold at the bank in the same ownership capacity. You can access the terms and conditions of the sweep program at https://i3.bank/sweepdisclosure/ and a list of program banks at https://i3.bank/programbanks/. Please contact operations@i3.bank with questions regarding the sweep program. If applicable, pass-through insurance coverage is subject to conditions.
The card itself is not FDIC-insured — the funds behind it are. FDIC insurance does not protect against fraud, loss, or unauthorized transactions; standard Visa zero-liability protections apply for those.
4. Consent and identifying information
When you accept these terms and apply for a card, we record your name, email address, phone number, the date and time of your consent, your IP address, and your device information, and we share that record with our banking partner for compliance and audit purposes. We do not share it with other third parties without your consent or where required by law.
5. Other EAT terms
The remainder of EAT's general Terms & Conditions (account, privacy, referrals, social rewards, billing) are pending publication. The sections above are the authoritative terms for the EAT Per-Diem Card in the interim.
